Hey friends,
Just a quick note to say that things will be a little quieter around here for the next couple of weeks. I’ll post less frequently as I take time to rest, travel, and (hopefully) refill the creative tank.
To be honest, I’m tired. Like, soul-tired. The kind of tired that can’t be fixed with one good night’s sleep or another cup of coffee. I did a lot of speaking and wrapped up some projects earlier this month, and I’m noticing how tired I am as a result of all the effort. It’s the tired that says, “Hey, you’ve been going non-stop—how about a little breathing room?”
So that’s what I’m giving myself: a little breathing room.
Some of this time will be spent on the road, which always stirs up new thoughts and inspiration for me. And some of it will be spent doing absolutely nothing productive—on purpose. Because rest isn’t something we earn; it’s something we deserve just because we’re human.
Taking a break seems wrong in a culture that strives for optimization and productivity. The voice says, “I shouldn’t do that, I’ll lose all the momentum I’ve built”. The manosphere screams about always being on; rest is only a sign of weakness. But taking a break is also a perfect example of tuning in and caring for yourself. Taking a break is not weak, it’s rebellious
Let’s be honest, it's not just being tired from work, I’m also feeling tired from the challenging world we’re living in. I’ve said it before and will continue to say it, navigating life in 2025 his hard. It’s the kind of hard that persists and does not seem to be letting up. For those who feel the same—I hope you find a way to rest, too. Not in a “grind now, rest later” kind of way, but in a “this matters just as much as the work” kind of way. The sort of way that honors permission not to do anything and just be.
I’ll be back soon, with new words, new thoughts, and probably a few stories from the road.
Until then—be gentle with yourself.
In rest and resistance,
Aaron
