The Unscripted Toolkit
What I Built When I Couldn’t Find the Resources I Needed
For years, people would ask me the same question:
“What’s a good resource for men struggling with body image or food?”
Every time, I’d pause.
Because the truth was, there weren’t many.
There were great books and podcasts about recovery and body trust — but when it came to men, it felt like we were always an afterthought. I’d recommend what I could, but I’d always wish there was something that spoke directly to our experience: the silence, the pressure, the humor, the armor, the shame.
And somewhere along the way, without really meaning to, I started building the things I’d been wishing for.
The Unscripted Journey
If you’re reading this, you’re already part of it.
The Unscripted Journey is where it all begins — the essays, reflections, and behind-the-scenes thoughts that tie everything together. It’s where I write about body image, shame, creativity, and what it means to live a little more unscripted.
This space is the foundation — the connection point for everything else.
Men Unscripted Podcast
Men Unscripted started because I wanted to hear real stories from men — not edited, not polished, not filtered through “fixing.”
Every episode features anonymous conversations about food, body image, and the human experience. These are some of the most honest discussions I’ve ever had.
New episodes are coming soon, but all past episodes are now available to stream.
If you’re new to this work, this is a great place to start listening.
Men’s Body Trust Group
Sometimes, the most powerful healing happens in community.
The Men’s Body Trust Group is a small, supportive space for men who want to explore their relationship with food, body, and identity alongside others who get it. It’s about connection, honesty, and the relief of knowing you’re not the only one navigating this.
Enrollment opens a few times each year, and each group remains intentionally small, allowing us to delve deeper together.
If you’ve ever thought, “I wish I could talk about this with other guys,” this is that place.
Your Body Unscripted (Course)
This course is what I wish I could have handed to every man who asked, “Where do I start?”
Your Body Unscripted is a self-paced course that helps you untangle shame, silence, and self-criticism and start writing a different story with your body.
You don’t need a “plan” or a “fix.” You just need space to listen, learn, and reconnect with yourself.
If you’ve been reading my posts and nodding along, this is the next step.
Living Unscripted (Coaching with Aaron)
For those seeking more personalized support, I offer one-on-one coaching.
Together, we focus on body image, self-acceptance, and finding peace with food — but we also discuss everything that lies beneath those struggles.
Coaching includes private sessions and voice-message support via Voxer, so you have someone in your corner between conversations.
If you’re ready to do the work — not perfectly, but honestly — this might be the space for you.
The Soundtrack
Every journey needs a soundtrack, and this one’s mine.
There’s not much rhyme or reason to it; it’s just the songs that have carried me through creative blocks, grief, joy, and moments of stillness.
It’s not just background music; it’s the rhythm that reminds me to keep showing up.
Maybe it’ll do the same for you.
Sharing this feels like the most vulnerable thing I’ve done yet for some odd reason.
**There are also some songs here that were recommended by guests who came on Men Unscripted.
Why I’m Sharing This Now
For a long time, I built these things quietly, one at a time, not realizing how they all fit together. Now, when someone asks me, “What do you recommend?” I can finally say:
“Here’s what I’ve built. Take what fits. Leave what doesn’t. There’s something here for everyone.”
Whether you start by reading, listening, learning, or talking, you’re already on your own unscripted path.
And I’m glad you’re here walking it with me.
Wherever you are in your journey, there’s a place to start.
